Gilts end lower on lack of RBI support, short sales

Prices of government bonds ended sharply lower on Wednesday as the data from the Clearing Corp. of India indicated that the RBI did not buy gilts in the secondary market on Tuesday, contrary to market expectations, dealers said.
Some traders also placed short bets ahead of INR 320 billion of fresh supply of the 10-year benchmark 6.48%, 2035 gilt Friday, they said.
