With soaring electricity costs, spending on outdoor garden lighting isn't wise. However, lighting can greatly enhance your garden's beauty. Originally used for safety and visibility, landscape lighting now serves as an art form to showcase your garden after dark. It provides both aesthetic and functional benefits, such as preventing theft and illuminating spaces for parties. To save on electricity, use solar fixtures and low voltage installations. Solar fixtures are easy to install and reposition, while low voltage lighting works well in shaded areas and consumes less power. Upgrading your garden with outdoor lighting can transform its nighttime appearance with minimal effort. Here are a few garden lighting tips and techniques:
● With silhouetting the lights are directed on a flat, vertical surface behind the subject with which you are working like a statuary or an interesting branch of a tree. Think of how a tree looks with the setting sun behind it. That's silhouetting.
