Bride-hunt to betrayal

A 28-year-old woman from Choolaimedu lodged a complaint at the Anna Nagar All Women’s Police Station alleging that she was defrauded by a man she met on a matrimonial website.
She says she handed over about %8 lakh in cash and nine sovereigns of gold jewellery after assurances from the man — identified as Surya — that he would build them a home after marriage. After taking possession of the assets, Surya allegedly changed his behaviour, began avoiding her, and resorted to threats
