Vande Bharat to offer choice local Kerala cuisine
The Free Press Journal - Indore
|October 19, 2025
The Vande Bharat Express service operating on the Kerala route is set to enhance the dining experience for its passengers with a revamped catering policy, now offering a wider variety of local Kerala dishes.
The move is a direct response to passenger feedback and addresses concerns that the earlier food offerings were predominantly North Indian, leaving local commuters with limited options that reflected the state’s rich culinary heritage.
The new menu, as outlined on the IRCTC website, is expected to better cater to the local palate, providing an authentic taste of Kerala's diverse food culture. Kerala, known for its unique blend of spices and fresh ingredients, will now be represented more prominently on the train's menu.
The change aims to provide passengers with a more personalised and region-specific food experience during their travel.
