- HD Bureau

On the very day that Vijay of Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam met the kin of the 41 victims from the Karur rally tragedy, posters surfaced across Tiruchy accusing him of neglecting two loyal party cadres who died in a road accident last year.

The posters—attributed to Veera Devendira Makkal Munnetra Arakkattai—assert that while families of the Karur victims received relief of ₹20 lakh, the families of the two men, V L Srinivasan and Woraiyur Kalai alias Kalaikovan, appear to have been left unattended despite years of service to the party.

The two cadres died on 27 October 2024 near Ulundurpet in Kallakurichi district while en route to the TVK conference at Vikravandi. The driver reportedly lost control of the SUV in which Srinivasan and Kalai were travelling.
