Arijit Basu, Managing Director, Veedol Corporation Limited, talks about building a sustainable and self-reliant Bharat
-
“Viksit Bharat is not just a milestone — it is India’s century taking shape.” The way India is progressing shows a clear direction towards becoming one of the top three global economies by 2047, with GDP estimated in the range of $25-30 trillion.
The momentum also suggests that the $5 trillion milestone will be achieved well before 2030, positioning the country not only as the fastest-growing but also among the most resilient economies of the world.
This transformation will rest on knowledge, innovation, and inclusivity, supported strongly by the vision of Make in India and Vocal for Local. Growth must be driven by indigenous capabilities, domestic ecosystems, and self-reliance across critical sectors. At the same time, development has to stay firmly aligned with environment-friendly practices, the use of high-quality materials at the right cost, and uncompromised performance standards.
The true foundation of Viksit Bharat will be the balance of sustainability, affordability, and reliability—ensuring that progress is not only rapid but also enduring and responsible.
How is construction and infrastructure playing a crucial role in creating the path towards Viksit Bharat?
“Every bridge, road, and metro is more than concrete — it is the blueprint of Viksit Bharat.” Construction and infrastructure are the backbone of growth. The country's progress to 2047 will depend on how well expressways, ports, airports, metros, industrial corridors, and smart cities are connected into one strong network.
