China voices sympathy over Karur rally tragedy

Beijing has extended its “deep condolences” to the families of those killed in the crowd crush at a political rally in Tamil Nadu’s Karur district, following questions about foreign reactions to the high-profile disaster.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry emphasised that the Chinese embassy in India had formally expressed sympathy and that no Chinese nationals were among the casualties.
