When I first landed in the UK, the weather was gloomy, grey, and nothing like the chaos of Kolkata. Yes, it rains a lot, but there are also those unexpectedly beautiful days, the kind that make you want to just sit in a park and soak it all in.

- Abhranil Chaudhuri

The culture shock wasn't too harsh either. People here are super straightforward. They'll tell you exactly what they think, but at the same time, they're warm and welcoming. It didn't take long before I found my people, and honestly, that made all the difference in settling in.

Why Sheffield? For me, it was about the course. Electronics and computer engineering play a vital role in shaping future technologies, and this programme equips you to tackle global challenges in areas like Al, computing, cybersecurity, autonomous systems, ToT, and communications. The University of Sheffield has a lot of project-based modules, so I knew that when I graduate, I wouldnt just learn theory but would have actual experience working on real projects. For me, that makes studying more enjoyable because youre applying what you learn rather than just cramming from a book. Plus, Sheffield has a good reputation and is well regarded by employers.
