LOOTERS ALL | Ruling party leaders are accused of acting like dacoits
Opposition leader V. D. Satheesan has accused senior CPM figures of corruption and criticised the state police for serving as an extension of the party, following an audio recording attributed to a DYFI activist in Thrissur that alleges bribery among top CPM leaders.
Satheesan claimed the Thrissur DYFI district secretary described district CPM leadership as operating
HD Bureau CPM officials have issued a formal notice to DYFI Thrissur district secretary Sarath Prasad demanding explanation within three days over an audio clip in which he allegedly accused prominent leaders of amassing large wealth. Failure to produce an acceptable response could lead to disciplinary action.
The clip, which is being circulated widely, purportedly captures Sarath speaking about financial growth among senior party members. He is said to have claimed that those who once had modest means are now "crorepatis," naming Kerala Bank vice-president M. K. Kannan and MLA A. C. Moideen among them.
