Voter list revision: ECI says 89% of EFs collected

Facing intensive scrutiny from the Congress and other opposition parties, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday said that it has collected almost 89 per cent of the enumeration forms for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls in Bihar out of which almost 84 per cent has been digitised.

The Commission said that out of 7,89,69,844 voters, it has received EFs of 7,08,18,162 voters, that is 89.7 per cent of total voters in Bihar.

It also said that it has digitised 6,70,59,222 EFs that is 84.9 per cent of the total voters.

The poll panel also said that during the SIR process, it has found 35,69,435 electors not present at their address, while 12,55,620 voters have died.

It also stated that 17,37,336 have shifted to other places and 5,76,479 voters have been enrolled at other locations.
