The Daily Guardian
|March 11, 2025
Edgar Alan Poe rightly observed that allsuffering originates fromcraving, from attachment, from desire. Asman is more attached with more desires, he is more detached from attaining Salvation.
In Hinduism, the concept of salvation is deeply rooted with an individual's Karmic actions. Salvation in Sanskrit means Mukti, Moksha and Kalavya.
Moksha is a central concept of Hinduism which is the final goal of human life. From the religious point of view, salvation is the deliverance of soul from the sinful doings and its consequences.
Moksha is attained when an enlightened human being is freed from the cycle of birth, death and incarnation. This is a bondage from which man has to release himself from the worldly pleasures.
Edgar Alan Poe rightly observed that all suffering originates from craving, from attachment, from desire. As man is more attached with more desires, he is more detached from attaining Salvation.
One of the best pathways to attain Moksha is cultivation Bhakti or devotion by which people can control their desires out of fear or intense devotion.
This is just possible when man engaged himself in offering prayers, doing worships and singing hymns.
Attaining Jnana or knowledge is to seeking self-realization through the study of literature.
Introspection can also lead one to focus on Jnana Marga.
