This is the final phase for the Bihar election. From all accounts the election has been an interesting one for more than one reason. The campaign itself has been one that has focused on issues rather than the politics of polarization that overtakes election rhetoric these days.
‘The Congress began by raising the issue of vote chori and the SIR exercise undertaken by the Election Commission. The Mahagathbandan (MGB) campaign was then taken up by Tejashwi Yadav who focused on jobs - har ghar ek sarkari naukri (a government job for every household) and other youth related issues. The NDA campaign, spearheaded by the BJP spoke focused on women by announcing the Blhar Mukhyamantri Mahila Yojana that promised Rs 10,000 rupees each to 75 lakh women amountig to Rs 7500 crore. Given that the women voter has been assiduously wooed by NIt-ish Kumar this campaign caught on fast specially when the Rs 10,000 sum began arriving in the voters
