State of world today is cause for genuine concern: Jaishankar at BRICS meet

Noting that the state of the world today is a cause for genuine concern and the multilateral system appears to be failing the world in the face of various challenges, External Minister S Jaishankar on Monday said that "so many serious stresses are being left unaddressed" and it "is having consequences for the global order itself".
Jaishankar, who represented Prime Minister Narendra Modi at this virtual meeting of BRICS Leaders, said that the world requires constructive and cooperative approaches to promote sustainable trade.
He noted that some of India's biggest deficits are with BRICS partners, and there is a need for expeditious solutions.
