REVIEW: FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S 2 FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S 2

Five Nights at Freddy's 2, directed by Emma Tammi, is among the last batch of horror films arriving in 2025, coming with huge expectations from both horror-loving audiences and longtime fans of the iconic video game franchise.

This sequel, released within 2 years of the original, attempts to broaden the thematic scope, expand the supernatural mystery, and build on the eerie mythology surrounding Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. While one can see this ambition, the execution, unfortunately, results in a slow-burning film and less frightening output from the filmmakers.

As the narrative resumes, you will find Mike Schmidt (Josh Hutcherson) still struggling with trauma and guilt. He finds himself unable to break free from the horrors encountered. Abby (Piper Rubio), his younger sister, has a strong psychic sensitivity to the spirits inhabiting the animatronics, and her visions take her closer to the pizzeria’s lingering presence.

In the sequel, the script stretches Mike and Abby's relationship across various competing plotlines, which ends up reducing the impact of excellent performance by both of them.
