Prof Ghosh brings scholarly touch to Guv's office

Making key gubernatorial appointments, President Droupadi Murmu has appointed Professor and senior BJP leader from West Bengal Ashim Kumar Ghosh as the new Governor of Haryana.
Ghosh replaces Bandaru Dattatreya and will assume charge upon taking the oath of office as confirmed by the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday. Dattatreya had been handling this responsibility since July 7, 2021.
A seasoned academician and veteran political leader, Prof. Ghosh is widely respected for his contributions to both higher education and public life. Born in 1944 in Howrah of West Bengal, he holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Vidyasagar College, Kolkata, and went on to build a distinguished career as a professor before turning to politics.
