Photo of Punjab NSUI chief with Pak Army officer sparks row, BJP demands probe

A controversy has erupted after a photo of Punjab NSUI president Isharpreet Singh Sidhu with a Pakistani Army officer surfaced online.

The Punjab BJP has lodged a formal complaint with Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, demanding action against Sidhu and a thorough investigation into his alleged links with Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI.
In its complaint, the BJP asserted that national interest must come first and called for strict action if any anti-national association is found. The party said Sidhu's ties with Pakistan's ISI must be investigated thoroughly.
Reacting to the controversy, Isharpreet Singh Sidhu acknowledged that he had shared the photo in question and clarified that the Chinese Embassy organized the event. He added that several people were in attendance at the event.
