NEP 2020: A road map for Viksit Bharat@2047

The Indian education system is moving away from traditional methods to a new way of education and exploring new heights tailored to the needs of various sectors of the economy under the NEP 2020.

To achieve Viksit Bharat@2047, the country must progress across all sectors in a balanced manner with a high growth rate. Bharat requires productive, technically proficient, and well-trained skilled workers for this. The role of education is pivotal in shaping the future of the economy.

It is often said that India was industrialized without experiencing a traditional industrial revolution. Until 2014, there was a considerable gap between current learning outcomes and the required standards and between skills taught in educational institutions and skills required by industry, resulting in unemployment and underemployment in society. The Indian workforce mainly relies on MSMEs after the agriculture sector.

NEP 2020 tackles this through substantial reforms that guarantee the highest quality, equity, and integrity levels across the education system, from early childhood education to higher education. The NEP 2020 has integrated many elements aligned with Bharat's developmental needs.

One must be acquainted with some of the important aspects incorporated in the NEP 2020 and major achievements for the past five years.

STEPS TOWARDS ACCESSIBLE EDUCATION: The Indian government, under the able leadership of Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the past 11 years, has been taking groundbreaking steps. The establishment of various higher education institutions, universities, and colleges across the country reflects a strong drive towards scholastic achievement, academic distinction, academic prowess and maintaining the regional balance.
