The US presidents in past 100 years had played a pivotal role in shaping world politics through their policies on defence, diplomacy, and economics.

Landmark Decisions of American Presidents

Decisions like military interventions, climate accords, or trade deals can influence global power structures, affect international markets, and redefine relationships with allies and adversaries alike.

Over the past century, various U.S. presidents have made landmark decisions that have not only reshaped the trajectory of the United States but also had profound implications on world politics, economics, and global governance. These decisions altered the way nations interact, the role of international organizations, and how economies are structured across the globe. Here, we explore ten landmark decisions made by U.S. presidents that changed the course of the world.

Woodrow Wilson's presidency during and after World War I was pivotal in shaping the modern international order. Perhaps his most consequential decision was his push for the creation of the League of Nations. Wilson's vision was to create an international organization that would prevent future conflicts through dialogue and collective security. The idea of a global body designed to resolve disputes diplomatically had never been attempted on such a large scale before.

The League of Nations, formed as part of the Treaty of Versailles, aimed to promote peace and cooperation. Although the U.S. never officially joined due to opposition in Congress, Wilson's ideals laid the groundwork for what would later become the United Nations in 1945. This marked a turning point in world diplomacy and helped usher in a new era of multilateral cooperation.
