INDIA-US TRADE PACT ENTERS FINAL STAGE

India and the United States are poised to formally announce a landmark trade agreement this week, with reciprocal tariffs set to be reduced and bilateral economic ties entering a new phase.
India and the United States are set to issue a joint statement on their recently concluded trade agreement this week, government sources said.
The deal, finalised after months of negotiations, reduces reciprocal tariffs from 25% to 18% and eliminates the additional 25% duty on Russian oil imports into India. Under the agreement, India has also agreed to increase imports from the US by $500 billion across sectors including energy, technology, agriculture, and defence.
