High Court To Haryana Govt: Prepare Disaster Management Plan For Residential Areas Situated At River Banks

The Punjab and Haryana High Court in the case Maharishi Markandeshwar Developers Private Ltd v.State of Haryana and others observed and has directed the Haryana Government to prepare a scientific disaster management plan for the residential areas situated at the river banks, wherein observing that this Court is under a 'constitutional duty to ensure the safety concerns'.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court in the case Maharishi Markandeshwar Developers Private Ltd v. State of Haryana and others observed and has directed the Haryana Government to prepare a scientific disaster management plan for the residential areas situated at the river banks, wherein observing that this Court is under a 'constitutional duty to ensure the safety concerns'.
The bench comprising of Justice Sureshwar Thakur and Justice Vikas Suri was hearing the present matter.
The bench in the case stated that, 'A team of experts becoming deployed to prepare a scientific disaster management plan, thus for the benefit of all the inhabitants of the thickly inhabited localities, which exist on the banks of all the rivers flowing within the State of Haryana'.
