HC raps civic bodies over Tihar sewer mess

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday pulled up civic authorities over unclean sewer lines in Tihar Central Jail, remarking that judges had been "reduced to municipal commissioners" while dealing with such issues.
A bench of Chief Justice D K Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela was hearing a petition filed by lifer Sonu Dahiya, who claimed that inmates were forced to live in "unhygienic living conditions" due to persistent drainage problems.
