From Blackboard to Smartboard: Rajasthan's Digital Education Revolution

This digital revolution is reshaping the learning environment for thousands of students, especially in rural and remote areas, by bridging the digital divide and enhancing educational outcomes through Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Under the state government's ambitious ICT initiative, a total of 13,976 government schools across Rajasthan have been equipped with modern ICT labs by 2024. Out of these, 13,411 labs operate at the secondary and higher secondary levels, while 565 Adarsh Vidyalayas—model schools—have also been integrated into this digital network. Furthermore, over 17,421 smart classes have been established in more than 13,000 schools across the state, marking a significant stride towards comprehensive digital education.

EMPOWERING STUDENTS THROUGH ICT LABS
The ICT labs are much more than just computer rooms. They serve as digital classrooms where students gain essential technical skills alongside traditional education. Here, students learn the basics of computing, including typing, sending emails, and using popular software like Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. They also engage in internet research, access subject-specific video lectures, and benefit from interactive digital content tailored to enhance their understanding.
