EU Calls For Restraint, Dialogue Amid Rising India-Pakistan Tensions

In light of rising tensions following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam and the recent Operation Sindoor, the European Union has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating security situation in the region.
Reaffirming its strong condemnation of terrorism in all its forms, the EU has called for justice for the victims and urged India and Pakistan to exercise maximum restraint, prioritize the protection of civilians, and engage in dialogue to de-escalate the crisis.
The High Representative on behalf of the European Union in a statement on Thursday said, "The European Union (EU) and its 27 Member States unequivocally condemn the heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April and the murder of innocent civilians. Terrorism can never be justified. Those responsible for the attack must be brought to justice. Every state has the duty and the right lawfully to protect its citizens from acts of terror."
