Equipping Students for Real-World Challenges: The Benefits of Action Learning Programmes

As the world around us is rapidly changing, educationists are restructuring the course curriculum to enable the students to stand tall amidst these challenges.

The New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 also highlights the importance of improving the quality of education while making it more inclusive for students of all backgrounds, thus creating an equitable education system, where every student has an equal chance of doing well.

NEP also focuses on skill-based education, where students learn about the practical aspects of their subject of choice.

To impart skill-based education, various steps have been undertaken by educational institutions.

While some introduced vocational courses such as carpentry, dress designing, computer application, medical lab technology, business management, hotel management, data analytics etc, others are trying to restructure the already existing courses.

ITIs have for long created a learning ground for students; however, they only offered diplomas, where students ended up with low-paying jobs, thus graduate and postgraduate courses need to be attuned to the changing times.
