It’s a film that explores life through the eyes of a child through gentle storytelling.
In this release of BAFTA Award-winning children’s and family film Boong, Director Lakshmipriya Devi takes you into the middle of the villages, hills, and towns of Manipur, a region that is rarely shown in mainstream Indian cinema.
Boong focuses on the everyday emotions of a young boy who wants to fix his family, rather than telling a big, dramatic story. Living with his mother, L. Brojendra Singh aka Boong (Gugun Kipgen), is a mischievous but kindhearted boy. His mother Mandakini (Bala Hijam Ningthoujam) works hard to support him as his father has left them with a promise of coming back soon, and their wait has been for years.
