BJP rebels to fight as independents

Despite concerted efforts to quell internal dissent, the ruling BJP continues to grapple with rebellion as several party leaders, unhappy with the ticket distribution, have filed their nominations as independent candidates on the last day of nominations on September 12.
BJP's Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal's mother, Savitri Jindal, has entered the fray as an independent candidate from Hisar. Her decision comes in protest against the party's decision to field sitting MLA and cabinet minister Kamal Gupta. Savitri Jindal, citing her desire to serve the people of Hisar one last time, has openly challenged the party's choice.
Similarly, BJP leader and former minister Kavita Jain has filed her nomination as an independent from Sonepat, opposing the party's decision to back former Congress leader Nikhil Madan. Jain's defection highlights the dissatisfaction brewing within the party ranks over ticket allocation.
