BJP leader's Nepal-like uprising call angers TMC

Former BJP MP and leader Arjun Singh's fiery remarks invoking a "Nepal-like uprising" in West Bengal have triggered a full-blown political storm, with the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) filing multiple police complaints and accusing him of threatening Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Speaking at a public event earlier this week, the former BJP MP from Barrackpore declared that Bengal's youth must "rise like Nepal's youth" against corruption. "Without blood, no corrupt rule ends. We need a similar public uprising here," Singh told the gathering, adding that he was willing to "lead from the front row" if such a movement began.
The comments were immediately seized upon by the TMC, which branded them dangerous and inflammatory. State Minister and TMC MP Partha Bhowmik alleged the remarks amounted to incitement to violence against Banerjee herself.
