BJP brands Rahul 'anti-India' after his remarks in Colombia

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday hit out at Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, branding him "anti-India" after he alleged that the ruling party and its ideological mentor, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), were driven by "cowardice" and that India's democracy was under attack.

BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari accused Gandhi of defaming the country on foreign soil, claiming his “remote control” was in foreign hands. “Rahul Gandhi is not a political opponent but a leader of opposing India. Those who don't want India to progress push him to say such things. The Gandhi-Vadra family kept India poor, and now when they see India emerge as a four trillion-dollar economy, he attacks the country's democracy out of jealousy and disgust,” Bhandari said.
