Bengal BJP warns to block trade route to B'desh

The West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party today gheraoed the offices of the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata to protest the arrest of ISKCON Bangladesh priest Chinmoy Krishna Das by Dhaka police on Monday. It also threatened to launch a blockade at the land port of Petrapole, which is an important entry point for Indian goods into Bangladesh.

Led by Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, BJP legislators and workers marched to the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission carrying placards and chanting slogans. Later, an eight-member team went to meet Bangladesh Government officials to voice their protests.
