The sex ratio at birth, which measures the number of girls born for every 1,000 boys, stands at a disturbing 865-far below the natural range of 943-952. This figure, based on the Civil Registration System data from 2020, not only lags behind the state average of around 909 but also signals the deep entrenchment of gender bias and sex-selective practices within the city's healthcare system and social mindset.
