A ground-level survey of the Hyderabad Parliamentary constituency was conducted by India News to analyse the performance of Asaduddin Owaisi, the Member of Parliament from Hyderabad, and gather voters' feedback about him.

ASSESSING ASADUDDIN OWAISI'S PERFORMANCE AS HYDERABAD'S MP

Hyderabad, known as the city of Nizams and pearls, is a centre for information technology and biotechnology in India. In 1591, Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah established Hyderabad on the banks of the Musi River, a few miles away from the old Golconda fort.

Hyderabad has also been a hub for the trade of diamonds, with the famous Kohinoor diamond in the crown of Queen Elizabeth rooted in the Golconda mines.

Currently, Asaduddin Owaisi of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) represents the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat.

Asaduddin Owaisi's father, Salahuddin Owaisi, was also a politician and served as a Member of Parliament from Hyderabad for more than two decades.

Asaduddin Owaisi gained prominence in the politics of the southern states of India when he was elected as the MP from Hyderabad in the 2004 Lok Sabha elections.

He is the National President of AIMIM. After being elected in 2004, he continued to win in the 2009, 2014, and 2019 general elections.

Owaisi is recognised as a leader of Muslims in India.

He believes in the progress of Indian Muslims and fights for their rights. Owaisi is known for expressing his opinions boldly on various issues and controversies, standing against both the central and state governments.

Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, holds one of the Lok Sabha seats, traditionally dominated by the Congress. However, the Owaisi family has held a stronghold on this seat for more than three decades, with no other party winning it since 1984.
