AAP to contest assembly polls in Haryana solo

The Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday announced that the party will contest assembly polls in Haryana alone but Parliamentary polls will be fought as part of the I.N.D.I.A bloc.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has tasted electoral success in Delhi and Punjab but has failed to establish itself in Haryana, on Sunday held a ‘Badlaav Jansabha rally in Jind , considered the political capital of Haryana.
The Congress in Haryana and AAP in Punjab were keen to go solo as the party leaders from both factions have proposed the same to the high command on several occasions.
The assembly election is due in October this year and the Lok Sabha polls are due in April-May.
In the rally, Kejriwal said people only have trust in AAP. In the wake of the failures of the ruling BJP-JJP led government, Haryana is seeking a big change, he added.
AAP is a part of the I.N.D.I.A bloc . The alliance has suffered setback in neighbouring Punjab as state Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had said that there would be no alliance with the Congress for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
