From Friday to Sunday, May 2 to 4, more than 3,000 rowers in 130 boats will be taking to the Atlantic to battle it out in the 34th championships.

The event started in 1990, taking a two-year break during the Covid pandemic.

"The World Pilot Gig Championships is a fiercely competitive series of rowing races in Cornish pilot gigs", a spokesperson said.
