Sensual Sheer is back

EVERYDAY WEAR: UNAPOLOGETICALLY FEMININE
Sheer is back this summer, reimagined and bold. In tandem with trends, sheer clothing is redefining femininity and sensuality for women on their own terms, says Pretoria-based designer Gerrit Pienaar.
Gone are the days when sheer was reserved for evening gowns and runway theatrics, Pienaar said.
"Now, sheer is an everyday statement, a means of expressing confidence, elegance and empowerment," he said.
In his summer collection, the sheer trend takes center stage, but not plainly. It's beautifully dramatic.
The sheer blouse or top is everything this season.
Pienaar's collection includes tops with delicate florals and strategic appliqu that, he suggested, create a balance between allure and a measure of mystery."Sheer clothing is a celebration of self-expression without compromise, allowing you to be unapologetically feminine."
For those testing the waters of a bit of transparency, he recommended pairing a sheer blouse with high-waisted jeans.
