HIGHLIGHTS: SIX FEATURE EVENTS MAKE FOR TOP-CLASS RACING AT TURFFONTEIN
Tomorrow's race meeting is one of the marquee events of the season and the 10-race card is headlined by the Grade 2 Allied Steelrode On A Mission Charity Mile. There are also five other feature races on the card.
This day does a massive amount for charities, and it is truly a phenomenal day to be a part of.
I have a full book of rides, so I will be hoping to get a winner or two on the board through the day.
Race 1 is a Maiden Plate over 1160m and I ride Major Arcana who is a lovely horse. He ran a great race on debut and with the expected natural improvement should be the horse to beat. I make him one of my better rides on the day so I'll be hoping to start the meeting with a winner.
Witch Hazel also ran a really good race on debut in a race that has worked out well.
He looks to be a nice horse and is my main danger.
Tintin returns from a break but he ran well on debut and if close to peak fitness he is one of the main contenders too.
Watch the betting and canter past for the best guide to the chances of the unraced runners, as there are several well-bred horses.
Race 2 is a Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1160m and I ride Stone Of Scone. She is having her third run after a rest and I like the fact she is now stepping back down in trip.
Unfortunately, she travels way too hard in her races and this will suit her more and she is one of the leading contenders.
Quiet Winter ran a really good race last time out and she is also having her first run after a rest, so should also be cherry ripe.
Her form does set the standard and I think she is the filly we all have to beat.
Winter Belle has been disappointing to date but gets a tongue tie fitted and that can make a difference, so she must go into wider bets.
Sakura Hanami ran on powerfully on debut and steps up slightly in trip which will suit, so she must go into all bets.
