Kitshoff retires with 'many memories'

Two-time World Cup-winning South African prop Steven Kitshoff said he is walking away with "so many incredible memories" after announcing his retirement owing to a serious neck injury.
-
The 33-year-old, capped 83 times and a pivotal member of the 2019 and 2023 World Cup-winning sides, suffered the injury playing a Currie Cup match for Western Province last year.
He missed all of the Springbok Tests last year as a result and although he underwent surgery and extensive rehabilitation, a specialist neurosurgeon advised him he was at risk of another serious injury.
