Hits back at accusation results worse than before.
BRINK: TSHWANE MAYOR IS WORKING TO ACHIEVE UNQUALIFIED OUTCOME.
City of Tshwane mayor Cilliers Brink says he won't back down without a fight and is working towards achieving an unqualified auditor-general (AG) outcome for 2023/24.
Brink hit back at accusations claiming the city's audit outcome results were worse than before or than the DA coalition made it out to be.
"The City of Tshwane's audit outcome has improved. We have cleared in the year most material irregularities. There's a credible plan in place to get clean water in the taps of the people of Hammanskraal," he said.
"Our efforts at dealing with the misspending of public money has been commended by the South African Local Government Association in Gauteng," he said.
Brink said he met representatives of the AG last week, who also recognised that there had been strong political and administrative leadership in the city.
