Champs' depth is key factor

Club soccer returns this weekend after the international break with cup clashes at home and in England, plus six Betway Premiership games and a range of chances to win lots of lovely cash in TAB soccer pools - TAB is adding a whopping R800,000 to five pools including R250,000-boosted Soccer 10 bets on Friday and Saturday!

Champs' depth is key factor

World Cup qualifiers were completed yesterday and the focus now falls back on club action this weekend, both at home and abroad.

It starts with the Nedbank Cup tie between PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune United at Atteridgeville on Friday, which will see Sundowns having to make decisions about fielding several key players who will be arriving back at the club from international duty.

Players like Ronwen Williams, Khuliso Mudau and Jayden Adams should only be back at the club tomorrow from Bafana Bafana duty and it is doubtful that coach Miguel Cardoso will field them in Friday's game. That gives Sekhukhune a chance for a possible upset, even though Sundowns' squad depth still makes them heavy favourites. No doubt that many TAB customers will rely on the home side to win in their bets for the R250,000-added Soccer 10 pool.
