Work begins to deter dogging at notorious hotspot

Arcot Lane, Cramlington, Northumberland

The road is expected to be closed until this Saturday, October 11 to allow works to take place. Works are also expected between October 20 and 24.

The works will include carriageway resurfacing, edge repairs and verge repairs. It is understood restrictions will be put in place, including posts and ditches, to prevent further loitering in vehicles.

It comes after concerns were raised about people engaging in group sex acts in broad daylight. The concerns came to light after plans to build a new crematorium in the area were approved.
