IT has been 10 years since the last sighting of Michael Whinham but his family still live in hope that they'll see him again.

'We hope every day that he'll just come and knock on the door'

Michael Whinham

The 31-year-old was last seen leaving Newcastle Crown Court on CCTV on November 14, 2015, and was reported missing to police nine days later.

Michael's younger sister Maggie had just turned 10 when her older brother disappeared. Despite their difference in age, the pair were close and spent a lot of time together.

Maggie, from Wallsend, told The Chronicle: "I can remember him all the time, it doesn’t feel that long ago to be fair. I was there nearly every weekend with him - we were really, really close."

Michael’s dad Paul searched tirelessly for his son for more than nine years, travelling all over the country for answers. He even paid the mortgage on Michael’s Benwell home to make sure he had somewhere to stay if and when he returned.
