Vikings touch down in North East with schools competition

THE Minnesota Vikings have brought the NFL to Newcastle at the launch of a new flag football league in Kingston Park.

The home of the Newcastle Red Bulls welcomed the American football team last Wednesday, as it commits to growing the game here in the UK.
The league has brought together more than 100 children from ten schools across the North East into a mixed under-13s competition which takes place over six weeks, concluding with a championship event on Wednesday, October 22.
