TEEN TO BE HONOURED AT PALACE OF WESTMINSTER FOR SELFLESS WORK
Luke Hedley is to receive the British Citizens Youth Award Medal of Honour for his selfless work creating 3D-printed safety whistles to support the Northumberland National Park MRT (Mountain Rescue Team)
A SOUTH Tyneside teen is to be recognised for his selfless and creative work
Luke Hedley, aged 13 from Jarrow, has been helping Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team (NNPMRT) by creating 3D-printed safety whistles and will now receive the prestigious British Citizens Youth Award Medal of Honour.
The British Citizen Youth Award, now in its ninth year, recognises young people from across the UK that have made a positive impact on their communities and wider society.
Luke is only of only 22 to be presented with the Medal at The Palace of Westminster this Thursday.
Each inspirational young person has shown kindness and commitment to a multitude of causes, raising funds and awareness, and are all dedicated to making a difference.
They are invited to use the post-nominals ‘BCyA\ as a legacy of their achievements and endeavours.
In January 2025, Luke used his Christmas and pocket money to purchase a 3D printer, with one clear purpose - to make a difference.
