Teenager is seriously hurt in motorcycle hit and run

A 16-YEAR-OLD GIRL was left with 'serious injuries' after she was hit by a motorcycle in South Shields.

Northumbria Police officers were informed about the incident, which took place at Trow Quarry in The Leas area, near the former The Waters Edge pub.
At around 9.25pm on Friday, June 6, police were alerted to the injured pedestrian, who was in a field after being struck by the electric Sur-Ron motorcycle, and the rider had fled the scene.
A 16-year-old boy was later arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and he has since been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.
