CASTLE VISIT COMPARES FOOD FROM TODAY AND OUR PAST
YOUNGSTERS from Newcastle's West End have been enjoying a 'historic' health boost thanks to a community project.
Pupils from Bridgewater Primary School and Scotswood Village Nursery have been learning about local history which was brought to life through a visit to Newcastle Castle.
The sessions, which encourage exercise and healthy eating, saw the children take part in fun activities such as space hopper jousting and lessons learning all about foods from the past.
The activities have been run by a partnership between local charity Healthworks and Newcastle Castle, using funding provided by New Tyne West Development Company (NTWDC) the regeneration partnership behind The Rise development, in Scotswood.
