Stars look to be aligned at Musselburgh

ALIGN The Stars can thrive returned to handicap company in the Virgin Bet Queen’s Cup at Musselburgh today.

Trained by Charlie Johnston, the four-year-old won three times at that level last term, notably triumphing by a neck in an ultra-competitive event at Goodwood in the summer.

That victory off a mark of 99 prompted his connections to raise their sights for a Lonsdale Cup run, but he fell short on the Knavesmire and again when pitched into the Group One Prix Royal-Oak on his final run of the campaign.

Dialled back to Listed company for his seasonal return last week, Align The Stars was beaten less than a length in third behind Al Qareem, albeit getting 5lb, and a repeat of that kind of form here should be good enough and gives him a fitness edge over some of his main rivals.
