THREE NEW DEFENDANTS HAVE BEEN CHARGED

- By ROB KENNEDY Court reporter

SIX men are now facing trial in connection with alleged arson attacks aimed at endangering the life of John Henry Sayers.

Three men previously appeared in court accused of arson with intent to endanger the life of Sayers.

Now one of them and three other men have been accused of conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger Sayers’ life and conspiracy to commit arson being reckless as to whether his life was endangered.

The new defendants - John Reid, Laighton Smith and Mitchell Smith, will now stand trial alongside Grant Royal - who also denied the conspiracy charges, Grant Curley and Walter Patterson.
