Sadness as independent toy shop closes

AN INDEPENDENT North Tyneside toy shop has closed its doors after 18 years.
-
Children of the Revolution has been a fixture of Tynemouth's Front Street since 2007, but its owners have decided that "the time has now come to call it a day".
They blamed the closure on a change in people's shopping habits due to the pandemic, saying that small independents have struggled to compete with the buying power of Amazon.
They added that they had suffered from rises in stock, rent, rates and utilities costs.
However, the main reason for the closure was pinned on parking.
