Police ‘found flat where sex workers were operating’

THE jury in a suspected Gateshead grooming gang trial has heard of a flat where sex workers were found to be operating.

A trial is currently under way involving six men who are accused of committing non-recent sexual offences against underage girls in the town.
Codrin Dura, 26, Leonard Paun, 23, Bogdan Gugiuman, 44, Klaudio Aleksiu, 28, Stefan Ciuraru, 22,and Ionut Mihai, 28, are all facing serious sexual offence charges which allegedly involved six underage girls.
The men deny the charges and are facing a trial at Newcastle Crown Court with the aid of Romanian and Albanian interpreters.
