IT'S terrific to have the Tyne-Wear derbies back after so many barren years when Sunderland sank into football's third-tier abyss before finding their way back to the promised land.

Mourinho returned to Chelsea where he received a hero's welcome. Some managers and clubs just fit. Mourinho and Chelsea is one of those combinations.

Two spells, three titles, seven trophies, endless drama. He gave them swagger, a siege mentality and silverware, and in return he got a stage made for his ego.

However, is Mourinho yesterday's man and Eddie Howe of today? I hope so, while never wishing to belittle what Mourinho has achieved because that would be hugely disrespectful. He has secured his place in history.
