Mum blasts school over daughter's skirt ruling

A COUNTY Durham mum has said her daughter's school is being “absolutely stupid” for insisting she wear a skirt over her leggings following a knee operation.
Alicia Hamilton underwent serious surgery to both knees last month and returned to school on crutches and wearing leggings as they were the most comfortable. But the 14-year-old was told by school staff that she had to wear a skirt over her leggings as they were “see-through” - something her mum, Lyndsay says it not the case.
Due to the row, Lyndsay decided to take Alicia out of school so she can fully recuperate at home. The mum has said that the school’s stance on the issue is “absolutely stupid”.
